Link Your Smartphone to Your Standard TV and Make it Smart

It seems like every new product being created today is smart, and at this rate, toasters will be more intuitive than humans soon. The appliance at the center of every household is no exception.

The TV has gone through big changes in the last decade, and while smart TVs are readily available the price range puts it out of the limit of most people. Smart TVs are not cheap and if you can’t afford the $1,500 starting price range, there’s a solution you can use to increase the IQ of your humble screen.

Screenovate’s Miracast Plus has a solution that can link the content from your smartphone to your TV seamlessly.

The service opens incredible opportunities for many different forms of entertainment, information and educational service providers with a new way to deliver their content. It can be used on any screen that has the ability to receive transmission wirelessly.

The Screenovate solution can beam HD movies as well as games, while keeping the telephony capability of the device functional while linked to the display.

The company’s screen beaming technology allows smartphones to turn TVs and computer screens into an extension of the mobile device. The software has triple-layer optimization based on the Android (News - Alert) system, smartphone chipset and device communications to give it the mirroring tools it needs.

This combination of software and hardware provides strong performance with low latency between devices.

The Wi-Fi-Certified Miracast technology is a standard that is being adopted by many different electronics manufacturers to beam content reliably. These connections are made using Certified Wi-Fi Direct in products that have been Miracast-certified.

With the influx of mobile devices taking over not only in businesses, but homes as well, this delivery method offers a way to create networks with high-speed delivery wirelessly.

The company is also in collaborations with Texas Instruments’ (News - Alert) (TI) OMAP(TM) 4 smart multicore platform, effectively giving Android-based smartphones and tablets an improved high frame rate and low latency delivery capability to other media platforms.

They will be displaying this technology at the 2013 CES (News - Alert) in Las Vegas this week.

"We are excited to release a new version of our Wireless Display Plus software, supporting the OMAP 4 platform and Android ICS. We are committed to keep on providing our OEM and carrier customers a real usable smartphone connectivity solution over standard wireless display technology," said Arnon Catalan, cofounder of Screenovate Technologies.
