Ericsson to Underline Popularity of Connectivity at CES
By Oliver VanDervoort, Contributing Writer
While the Consumer Electronics Show (CES (News - Alert)) allows companies to show off their wares, there are a couple of other reasons the event is going on.
Year after year, more presentations and speeches are given that help shape where the tech world is going, and this year is no different. One of the top tech companies in the world, Ericsson is going to be giving a presentation in which the company’s president and CEO, Hans Vestberg (News - Alert), will talk during a CES SuperSession.
During this session, taking place on January 9, Vestberg will discuss how the connectivity of the world is only going to increase in the very near future. "The New Network Effect Changes Everything," will feature Vestberg in a panel with several other highly placed tech world luminaries, including the CTO for Ford Motors.
The panel has been put in place to discuss how the relationship of people, machines and a company’s infrastructure will change over the course of the next few years. Ericsson (News - Alert) is certainly one of the companies that would know, as the firm has its fingers in quite a few of the sectors of the business world that bring about that connectivity.
Following the SuperSession, Ericsson will also be displaying a couple of devices that are taking more advantage of the connected world. Among the devices on display will be the connected vehicle line, offered by Volvo as part of a partnership with Ericsson.
Volvo is using a connected vehicle based in the cloud that makes it that much easier for developers to work together and with Ericsson and Volvo.
Ericsson will also be showing how Public Safety needs come into play when talking about worldwide connectivity.
The LTE (News - Alert) networks popping up more and more make it that much easier for people to communicate. But more importantly, law enforcement is able to communicate that much more efficiently.
