2013 International CES to Highlight Latest Wireless Technology, Trends

The International CES (News - Alert) is one of the most anticipated events for consumer electronics in the world. This show highlights the latest technology and trends taking place within this industry. If it’s not in the show, you probably don’t want it.
Companies with new products know getting the right press here will mean the product has a chance of doing well in the market. This year, CES will unveil trends that will affect every part of consumer electronics and wireless technology – showcases with innovations and upcoming trends.
Wireless technology will be embedded in everything from refrigerators to cameras. Keynote addresses will report on how the technology will be used in mobile devices, accessories, in the cloud, e-readers, embedded technology, smartphones, tablets and other applications.
The 2013 CES will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada with more than 1200 exhibitors showing wireless technologies and applications. Smartphones will be the biggest wireless component, accounting for almost $37 billion in 2013. Shipment for the year will total almost 126 million units and increase of 16 percent from 2012.
Tablets will generate an additional $35.6 billion, with more than 105 million units shipped for the year – an increase of 54 percent, and year-over-year increase of 22 percent.
“Wireless convergence is set to unleash a plethora of real world, next-gen wireless technologies as the 2013 CES. Half of the fun of the 2013 CES will be seeing the news announcements, experiencing the latest wireless technologies firsthand and learning more about what’s to come in our keynotes, sessions and TechZones,” said Karen Chupka, senior vice president of International CES and corporate business strategy.
Industry leaders from different companies will be making keynote addresses, including Dr. Paul E. Jacobs, chairman and CEO at Qualcomm Inc., as well as Verizon’s Lowell McAdam (News - Alert). Additionally, there will be nine sessions dedicated to smartphones and tablets, five sessions on wireless communications and six keynotes, and five panel discussions about the role of cloud and wireless technology.
The show will have 3,000 companies representing the entire globe across 15 product categories.
