From its introduction, there have been questions about how NFV relates to SDN. This session answers those questions. What is the relationship between SDN and NFV? Is each dependent upon the other for maximum benefit? Can the benefits of NFV be realized without SDN? Ricardo Belmar, Director, Product Management Marketing at Hughes tells Rich Tehrani of TMC about his company’s new branch office solution which uses Fortinet technology to provide security. The goal is to have a solution which makes combines security and performance optimization from Hughes allowing broadband WAN to be an MPLS-like service. Basically, you get great quality voice and video without having to pay top dollar for an MPLS network from your carrier.
