Cingular Wireless is all set to introduce the new BlackBerry (News - Alert) Pearl from Research In Motion (RIM), with an exclusive look and new features. The BlackBerry Pearl comes with Cingular’s Push to Talk (PTT) capabilities and a GPS-based wireless navigation service. With the BlackBerry Pearl, customers can enjoy essential features such as email, organizer and browser applications.




According to a news release, the BlackBerry Pearl is equipped with a digital camera, multi-media features and an expandable memory slot. It sports a quad-band GSM/GPRS and EDGE-enabled mobile application offering superior performance. The handset has got 64MB flash memory that can be expanded with a microSD card so that users can store plenty of music, pictures and videos.

The BlackBerry Pearl from Cingular (News - Alert) can make all the difference with Cingular’s Push to Talk service and TeleNav GPS Navigator for turn-by-turn driving directions.

Cingular has got the largest Push to Talk network in America and its PTT service comes with a number of differentiating features such as “availability” icons, quick group calling and the ability to switch a PTT session to a regular wireless voice call.

With PTT service, BlackBerry Pearl customers will be able to stay in touch with individual colleagues or friends, or set up groups for broader communication.

Cingular customers will get GPS turn-by-turn voice and on-screen driving directions on the BlackBerry Pearl as well with TeleNav GPS Navigator. TeleNav GPS Navigator offers directions through colorful 3D moving maps.

Other useful features include Biz Finder, helping users look up a business or place of interest, and Fuel Finder, offering providing nearby locations with the lowest gas prices.

Mike Lazaridis, president and co- CEO at Research In Motion, hopes that the BlackBerry Pearl will attract an even broader range of mobile customers toward BlackBerry.
