Bluestreak Technology, Amino Communications Partner to Create Integrated TV Solution for IPTV, Cable Operators

By Beecher Tuttle, TMCnet Contributor

In this technological era, devices that deliver only one service are quickly becoming obsolete. Consumers have begun to demand that their mobile phones, tablet devices, televisions and other electronic devices all offer multiple integrated applications.

Keeping this in mind, Bluestreak Technology Inc., a leading provider of software presentation solutions on wired and wireless embedded devices, and Amino Communications, a manufacturer of pure IPTV (News - Alert) and hybrid/OTT devices, have decided to collaborate to bring a new kind of interactive television service to IPTV and cable operators. The two companies announced their partnership at TelcoTV 2010, a three-day conference designed to help service providers remain competitive in the ever-adapting telecom space.

By pooling their resources, the two technology providers were able to successfully integrate Bluestreak's (News - Alert) award-winning MachBlue platform with Amino's Freedom DVB-T hybrid/OTT media center. The collaborative solution will enable IPTV and cable operators to deliver web services, Internet video and a variety of applications directly to a consumer's television.

Once integrated into Amino's hardware, Bluestreak Technology’s (News - Alert) MachBlue software platforms create a unified presentation environment where technologies like HTML5, Flash, JavaScript and CSS3 can all run on multiple devices, including connected TVs, mobile phones and set-top boxes.

“IPTV companies and cable operators are searching for the best ways to rapidly deliver a wide variety of web, telephony and television services through a single, easy-to-use experience,” Andrew Burke, CEO of Amino Technologies, said in a statement.

“By combining compelling presentation experiences, such as Bluestreak Technology’s, with Amino’s robust hardware and MeegoTV software capabilities, we are accelerating our customers’ time to market and delivering the new types of converged entertainment experiences that consumers demand," he continued.

Operators that offer the joint solution to their customer base will be able to meet the burgeoning consumer demand for integrated entertainment services. The collaborative product can help service providers bring broadcast TV, Video-on-Demand, home media, games and other applications directly to the screens of multiple consumer devices.
