If I were to tweet the hashtag #Hello, there is a rather high likelihood that it would be construed as in reference to Adelle's viral hit, not Firefox's failed foray in WebRTC. It has been some time since Firefox announced it would end support for its browser-based communications tool, allowing those of us in the media some time to digest this decision.
Mitel has been gaining a lot of positive attention lately. It was recently recognized as a Leader in a Forrester report and also received the 2016 TMC Labs Innovation award. And it seems like companies continue adopting Mitel's MiCloud left and right. A few months ago, Bouygues Telecom chose to adopt Mitel's MicCloud UCaaS, and now NORDSEE, a popular fish retailer in Germany and Austria, is doing the same.
The retail vertical can be a tricky one to navigate, as it represents myriad of different challenges than the enterprise, but when the proper strategy is implemented this low hanging fruit is ripe for the taking. Fusion is finding great success in the space, announcing that a chain of Asian-inspired restaurants has signed on with the cloud services provider.
Barracuda Networks Inc. has called on RingCentral Inc. to provide its reseller partners with services to help them transition to be cloud-based communications entities. This follows the July discontinuation of the Barracuda Phone System line.
The cloud is changing IT operations across the board; from the data center to the conference room, it is enabling a new generation of high-performing solutions, which are empowering the enterprise for success. In communications, unified communications as a service (UCaaS) is taking flight as a result of its easy implementation and robust functionality. Broadsoft, a firm bent on transforming unified communications, announced this week the acquisition of VoIP Logic to further this cause and round out its portfolio.
There's a lot of talk these days about how companies with engaged employees deliver the best customer service and are otherwise more productive than their less excited peers. So some businesses are working to figure out what it takes to keep their teams engaged. That's a growing challenge, however, particularly in light of the growing incidence of distributed workers. But new tools and solutions are coming available to help businesses keep their people informed about and involved in what they're working to accomplish.

The cloud is no different, a much hyped technology that tends to spur critics at every turn, is transforming technology across the spectrum.
