iTel Mobile Dialer Express Enables Mobile VoIP on Key Handsets

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

The introduction of VoIP has allowed for a whole new way to support voice communications over the less costly data line within the business world. Now, a number of users are looking for the same benefits in their mobile devices, searching for ways to negate the cost of minutes versus the ease of mobile VoIP.

REVE Systems offers a solution in its iTel Mobile Dialer Express. This mobile application enables mobile VoIP calls from any mobile phone. The solution was designed with close attention paid to the requirements of all VoIP service providers and not only allows clients to make VoIP calls from the mobile phone with VoIP service, but also allows service providers to brand the service as the operator.

As demand for mobile VoIP grows along with the mass deployment of 3G/Wi-Fi networks in a number of countries, the introduction of cheaper data services has also been recognized. The iTel Mobile Dialer Express facilities mobile VoIP through any mobile phone supported by Symbian (News - Alert), Blackberry, Windows Mobile or Android.

On Symbian phones, the mobile VoIP capability is enabled through the iTel Mobile Dialer Express for handsets supporting OS version S60 2nd; 3rd; and 5th edition. This mobile VoIP support is also extended to the largest range of Nokia-based Symbian handsets, with popular brands including Sony Ericsson, Samsung, LG, Motorola (News - Alert) and more.

Windows Mobile versions 5 and 6 are also both supported by the iTel Mobile Dialer Express, working with popular brands such as Samsung, HTC (News - Alert), HP, Sony Ericsson, LG, T-Mobile, Motorola, Toshiba and more.

In addition, the Android OS version 1.6 and above is also supported by the iTel Mobile Dialer Express. More than 60 popular Android handsets can leverage VoIP service.

Finally, for the Blackberry, mobile VoIP is supported on handsets running GSM and CDMA. For this, the dialer will run directly on CDMA handsets with OS 6 or higher.

According to company officials, the GSM handsets will leverage mobile VoIP when the dialer works in conjunction with iTel AMR Codec Converter.

For any iPhone (News - Alert) users that also want access to mobile VoIP capabilities, REVE Systems iTel Mobile Dialer Express is now also available through the App Store.

With so many different solutions becoming available to support mobile VoIP, we should expect to see this market continue to expand. And while the number of choices may seem overwhelming to the consumer, the reality is it will only make options better, and pricing more competitive.
