Hosted VoIP Success: Focusing on Business User Needs, Rather Than Technology Hype


Although there is a lot of hype about the benefits of cloud/hosted phone systems for businesses, this does not always match up with what companies are actually looking for when they choose their voice communication systems.


“The cloud has a lot of cachet in the marketplace,” said Greg Brashier, COO at VirtualPBX, during a TMCnet video interview at ITEXPO (News - Alert) West 2011 in Austin, Texas. “But, it’s cachet more for the industry than it is for the individual user. Our users want a business phone system they don’t have to pay a lot of money for, and has all the features they want.”


He added, “They don’t care whether you call it cloud or internet phone system. Some of them don’t even like the idea of VoIP. They prefer ‘virtual phone system’ as a term rather than ‘hosted phone system.’”
