Mobile personalization company Bridgewater Systems has introduced the Bridgewater ServiceMAX 500. The new service control and subscriber data management system enables WiMAX (News - Alert) operators to rapidly and cost effectively launch mobile broadband and Voice over IP services.

The Bridgewater ServiceMAX 500 System is fully compliant with the WiMAX Network Working Group Stage 3 specification. It is anchored by Bridgewater's Subscriber Data Broker, a subscriber data management product that unifies subscriber information, and provides the tools to broker this data to systems and applications.

The company is also offering optional modules in the Bridgewater ServiceMAX 500: it has lawful Intercept support, a regulatory requirement in many countries, the Bridgewater Policy Controller for over-the-air device configuration and service activation, server redundancy, and custom plug-ins, which allow for future expansion and service innovation.

This new turnkey system enables operators to rapidly launch commercial services, reduce risk by implementing, widely deployed service control and subscriber data management products, and deliver innovative, personalized services.

Adlane Fellah (News - Alert), CEO and funder, Maravedis noted that the average WiMAX deployment today serves 15,000 subscribers.

Fellah pointed out that a large number of these deployments are in the developing markets and areas without fixed broadband services.

“The Bridgewater ServiceMAX 500 leverages the same field proven service control and subscriber data management technology chosen by over 25 WiMAX operators to meet the requirements of small to medium sized deployments."

According to David Sharpley (News - Alert), senior vice president, Bridgewater Systems, the new Bridgewater ServiceMAX 500 has been designed for WiMAX operators who need a proven, entry-level integrated system to speed their time to service launch.

They also want the system at a compelling price-point and with the scalability to meet their subscriber growth objectives. The Bridgewater ServiceMAX 500 is ideal for all their needs and also has optional advanced features for differentiation and service expansion.
