Telecom Expense Management (TEM) solutions provider Veramark Technologies is helping the City of Beaumont, Texas to process telecom invoices more efficiently, allocate costs, and gain more control over the use of telecom resources.
VeraSMART Communications Management Suite will provide the City of Beaumont’s Communications Division with a number of benefits. The Division will now be able to receive telecom carrier invoices electronically, automatically validate the invoices, track and manage disputes, and allocate approved charges to appropriate City departments and managers.
Bart Bartkowiak, chief technology officer for the City of Beaumont recognizes the need of efficient working in the current economic situation and believes the Veramark solution will help them achieve this goal. The solution is speeding up their invoice processing, has reduced errors, and also helped to eliminate overcharges and late payment penalties.
By leveraging VeraSMART's call accounting capabilities, Beaumont's Communications Division expects to capture call data records for every call into or out of the City's telecom network. Thanks to a powerful reporting engine, users of the system will be able to generate reports that show call destination and origin, time and duration, estimated cost, and more.
Noting that the Veramark system provides a greatly improved ability to track 311 call activity, Bartkowiak explained that the system will give them the reporting they need to ensure that they have the right capacity, resources, and services to quickly and efficiently handle calls to the City's 311 Service Helpline.
Under the agreement, the City of Beaumont will license VeraSMART components for call accounting, charge allocation, invoice management, asset and invoice management, and service management. The company will also provide data migration, systems integration, and training services.
Michael Suttle (News - Alert), senior VP of Worldwide Sales at Veramark noted that their VeraSMART implementations are typically completed in less than four months and pay for themselves in less than a year. The company intends to meet or exceed those figures for the City of Beaumont.
Veramark will also develop a number of new Electronic Billing Formats (EBFs) that will enable the City to process carrier invoices electronically.
