By Divya Narain, TMCnet Contributing Editor

German integrated and unified mobile convergence solutions provider Comdasys has announced that its Mobile Convergence solution now supports Windows Mobile and Blackberry based Smartphones.

In the words of Martin Bitzinger, CTO of Comdasys (News - Alert), “Users of Windows Mobile based Smartphones will be able to use their mobile devices as a normal enterprise phone and have full access to the features of the Comdasys’ Mobile Convergence solution.”

“The release of the Windows Mobile based MC Client is planned for March 2009. It will have the same user-friendly and intuitive GUI and will be available in scenarios ranging from GSM only to full Dual-Mode (GSM/WLAN) deployment scenarios,” informed Bitzinger.

Comdasys has continuously added support for mobile handsets to its Mobile Convergence solution. According to a TMCnet report, Comdasys expanded the support for its solution to include Research in Motion (News - Alert) Blackberry devices.

In addition to Windows Mobile based Smartphones and Blackberry handsets, the wide range of handsets that the solution supports also include Nokia, Samsung (News - Alert) and LG handsets that are based on Symbian S60 3rd edition.

“Comdasys follows market trends very carefully and will adapt its Mobile Convergence offering accordingly,” said Marco Genoni from Stratatech Group, the company that provides commercialization services to Comdasys.

A PBX (News - Alert) agnostic FMC solution, the Mobile Convergence (MC) solution can be integrated into existing PBX or IP-PBX deployments. It offers the flexibility of being deployed as a dual-mode (Cellular - WLAN), a single mode (GSM, UMTS) or as a GSM only solution. The MC solution allows users to enjoy Unified Communication, when connected to a cellular or WiFi (News - Alert) network. Equipped with an intuitive GUI, the MC clients are compatible with different usability models on the different platforms.

Established in 2004, Comdasys provides secure VoIP, Ethernet and Fix / Mobile Convergence (MC) networking appliances to enterprises and service providers.
