Digium Announces First 21 Exhibitors at AstriCon 2010 Conference

Digium (News - Alert), Inc., the Asterisk Company, has announced the list of 21 companies who are the first to reserve space at their upcoming AstriCon 2010 Conference.

AstriCon 2010 will be held October 26-28, 2010, at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center near Washington, D.C.

Company officials said that the Digium-sponsored conference, now in its seventh year, attracts software developers, integrators, resellers, enterprise Asterisk (News - Alert) users, and Digium partners working with phone systems, unified communications and voice over IP (VoIP).

According to company spokesperson John Todd (News - Alert), Digium anticipates that based on the current pace of reservations for booths on the expo floor, the remaining spaces in the exhibit hall will be sold out well in advance of the event.

'With nearly half of the spaces in the exhibit hall reserved five months in advance of the event, the AstriCon team is very confident that our move to the D.C-area will produce our largest event for the Asterisk community to date,' said Todd in a statement.

He said that for 2010, the AstriCon content is being expanded to better serve the needs of Asterisk end users.

Todd said that in addition to 'traditional' AstriCon programming for developers and integrators, new sessions added this year are geared to helping Asterisk customers make the most of their investments.

'By attracting this enterprise/SMB audience, we ensure that attendees will be able to meet a more diverse group of vendors on the expo floor,' he said.

Back in April TMCnet reported that Digium and Yealink (News - Alert), a professional IP voice and video phone designer and manufacturer for broadband networks, announced an interoperability partnership and certification of Yealink SIP-T2x series IP phones.

Officials with Yealink said that SIP-T2x series are high performance and affordable SIP telephones that help businesses leverage the increasing benefits of VoIP telephone systems.

Yealink SIP phones provide quality audio, a brand range of voice codecs, security protection for privacy and rich telephony features.

And now, Yealink enterprise HD IP phones will be compliance-tested and certified by Digium for interoperability with Asterisk.
