Mohammad Shakouri, Alvarion's Corporate VP, to Keynote at TMC 4G Wireless EventBy Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC (News - Alert)), a publisher of Customer Interaction Solutions, Internet Telephony, Unified Communications, and NGN magazines, announced the addition of Alvarion's (News - Alert) corporate vice president, Mohammad Shakouri, to the list of keynote presenters at the 4G Wireless Evolution Conference being held Oct. 4 to 6, in Los Angeles. This session, scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 5, at 9 a.m., will discuss 4G broadband services for differentiated market segments, officials at TMC said. “I'm excited to be a keynote presenter at this year's conference, focusing on the topic of 4G broadband services for differentiated market segments,” said Shakouri. As a corporate vice president for innovation and marketing, Shakouri serves Alvarion's executive management team. Shakouri serves on several prominent roles in the industry. He is the vice president of the WiMAX (News - Alert) Forum and also a member of the WiMAX Forum board of directors. “Attendees will walk away understanding how to leverage both 4G technologies - WiMAX and LTE (News - Alert) - to address the large unmet demand for broadband services for multiple market segments such as vertical markets, rural and underserved broadband and mobile Internet applications,” Shakouri added. Shakouri is considered to be the leading voice for the WiMAX industry. He changed WiMAX into a multi-billion dollar industry and has expanded the WiMAX Forum's global reach. Additionally, Shakouri also serves on the advisory board for the Wireless Communication Alliance and is an IEEE (News - Alert) MTT-SVC 2004 chairman. Before joining Alvarion, Shakouri was responsible for developing and managing network solutions in European and South American broadband wireless markets for Lucent Technologies. Shakouri spent 14 years in technical and management positions with Hewlett Packard developing microwave and fiber optic communication components and systems, before joining Lucent. “Having Dr. Shakouri, one of the leading authorities on worldwide wireless deployments, speak gives us the benefit of perspective at this year's show,” said Carl Ford, co-founder of 4G Wireless Evolution. Shakouri co-founded the wireless systems division. There he was responsible for the engineering team developing low-cost residential digital wireless systems for the US and Asian markets He completed his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford University on Subpicosecond GaAs Wafer Probe Systems.
