TelcoBridges Enhances Toolpack API with System ManagerBy Arvind Arora, TMCnet Contributing Editor TelcoBridges (News - Alert), a company that provides hardware and software products to telecom solution developers, has launched a software-based enhancement called the Toolpack System Manager, added to its Toolpack application programming interface (API).
The Toolpack by TelcoBridges is a set of pre-developed, application development tools, ready-to-compile applications, and C++ classes that can be customized to build solutions in record time.
The compay provides the source code to its solutions along with a Toolpack API, deploying which its customers are able to customize their systems to meet their current, and evolving needs.
Operators and solutions developers need to integrate robust hardware with reliable software and fault monitoring & knowledge management applications for maximizing their system availability. TelcoBridges has provided this new enhancement to its Toolpack API, which accompanies its hardware to offer a greater and more valuable overall solution.
The Toolpack System Manager simplifies maintenance and upgrade procedures by supporting in-service upgrades to eliminate any downtime that could affect end-users, thereby helping solution providers in maximizing their systems' availability.
It restarts affected applications in case of a failure, and resynchronizes ports, stacks, and ongoing calls, without requiring action from the person managing the network, apart from enhancing application resiliency and redundancy by monitoring the integrity of all software sub-systems.
The Toolpack System Manager minimizes the downtime and provides rapid switchovers with no loss of service, and only minimal effects on transient calls.
It also switches control to redundant servers for live routine maintenance and upgrades, providing detection, isolation and addressability of faults by switching over to standby systems or components in automatic fashion.
Gaetan Campeau (News - Alert), president of TelcoBridges, said that nowadays consumers demand uninterrupted voice and data services, and operators in turn demand a system that's highly available, which means 99.999-percent of the time.
Campeau added that TelcoBridges delivers this capability, through its hardware unique software like Toolpack System Manager, so that the resulting solution offers the quality and flexibility that the world's largest operators depend on to service tens-of-millions of their customers.
TelcoBridges provides hardware and software products that are deployed by its customers to develop carrier-grade telecom solutions for a number of operators in more than 35 countries. To know more about TelcoBridges, please visit www.telcobridges.com.
