By Cindy Waxer, TMCnet Contributing Editor
Voxbone ( News - Alert) is ringing in the New Year with record results. The international VoIP origination services provider, whose customers include carriers, ITSPs, calling card operators and call centers, has announced record results for 2006.
The company has managed to boost its revenues by 450 percent and increase its number of business customers by 500 percent. To accommodate such growth, Voxbone more than tripled its employees around the globe.
In addition, Voxbone introduced new trunk services, added support for Inter-Asterisk ( News - Alert) eXchange protocol (IAX), and opened up a major point of presence (POP) in New York. What’s more, the company has extended its services to 10 new countries and more than 2,000 new cities.
Although headquarted in Belgium, Voxbone has expanded its VoIP backbone from Europe to America and most recently to Asia. The Voxbone network now covers more than 4,000 cities in roughly 50 countries.
“We are gratified at the tremendous reception of our VoIP origination services,” said Rodrigue Ullens, co-founder of Voxbone. “In 2007, we promise customers even more services in more global regions while maintaining the highest standards of service.”
Voxbone leases international VoIP virtual phone numbers and worldwide origination services via VoIP to organizations in North and South America, Europe and Asia/Pacific regions. It delivers call origination and provides the global infrastructure that enables its customers to expand to international markets quickly and efficiently.
Using either direct inbound dial (DID) or virtual numbers from Voxbone, for example, customers may receive inexpensive, locally dialed phone calls from 50 countries and 4,000 cities throughout the world.
