Telrex (News - Alert) today introduced CallRex Professional 3.5, a new version of its VoIP call recording system which is capable of verifying recordings of encrypted VoIP calls for Cisco CallManager 5.0.
The new version features a more advanced distributed-services software architecture, greater scalability, added security to ensure that call recording files cannot be secretly altered, as well as new features for multi-site deployments including enhanced multi-site call recording and monitoring, advanced file transfers, flexible storage and more streamlined archiving capabilities.
The new version now features digital watermarking security to ensure that once call recordings are created they cannot be secretly altered or edited. Watermarking technology generates a unique signature associated with the data file for each recorded call. Administrators will be able to detect any changes made to a call recording, as any changes disrupt its watermark indicating that tampering has occurred.
CallRex Professional 3.5 now enables customers to physically deploy the system either across multiple sites or to locate it centrally. The software can be licensed on a per user basis, which incurs no additional software costs to deploy multiple servers.
CallRex's new version also features options for storing and archiving recorded calls to streamline management and administration. With CallRex 3.5, call recordings can be stored on a centralized server, stored locally across multiple servers, or stored directly on Network Attached Storage (NAS) or on a Storage Area Network (SAN). The new version also allows for automatic tracking of files across multiple locations over time, for call recordings to be readily accessible.
Today's news comes on the heels of Telrex's announcement to expand its management team with the addition of two telecommunications and networking industry veterans, Dan Boehm and Andy Mercker.
Boehm joined Telrex as vice president of Sales with over twelve years of experience in the telecom industry, most recently as vice president of Sales and Marketing at Spectrum Corp., a call center analytics and reporting vendor.
Andy Mercker joined Telrex as director of Marketing after most recently serving as director of Marketing at Sphere Communications (News - Alert), an IP PBX vendor. Prior to joining Sphere, the executive worked at VeriSign (News - Alert), 3Com and U.S. Robotics.
