Merseyrail Accelerates Digital Transformation Forward with Kronos
U.K. rail operator Merseyrail employs 1,200 workers and operates hundreds of daily services at 68 stations throughout Liverpool. To provide its staff with tools they need to excel in the future, it has been undergoing a digital transformation.
The modernization encompassed a move to real-time cloud solutions that are AI-powered and a focus on the future of work.
To help accelerate the digital transformation, it has partnered with WFM and HCM solutions provider Kronos (News - Alert) Incorporated. As per the partnership, it is now using the Kronos Workforce Dimensions suite. The offering, powered by the company’s D5 platform, gives managers at Merseyrail new operational insight and employees a better overall user experience.
“As a great place to work, Merseyrail is unwavering in its commitment to providing the most engaging and innovative experience for all employees. The benefits we will reap from Workforce Dimensions will have a resounding impact on our operations and, as a result, on our customer experience as employees come to work energized and empowered to serve,” said Zoe Hands, chief operating officer at Merseyrail.
“There is no compromising when it comes to our high customer satisfaction, and we are confident our partnership with Kronos, a leading innovator focused on the future of work, will only elevate the experience for everyone who walks through our doors.”
Some of the new functionalities now offered include advanced scheduling, so employees with the right skills are always available to serve passengers as well as promoting a better work-life balance with mobile device access to schedules. There are also alerts for managers so they will know if compliance risks or other issue is arising and can act quickly.
Kronos recently partnered with Greater Anglia, another train operator in the U.K., who is also making use of Workforce Dimensions to improve the experiences and work-life balance for its employees and managers.
