What is a Wireless Headset?

Talking on the phone whether for business or personal reasons can be a tedious task that can take up both the time and attention of a caller. A wireless headset allows users to multi-task, providing them with hands free talk-time when on a call, to continue working or to be mobile while talking when necessary.

The ability to multi-task is particularly key for any work setting, especially with businesses migrating to working remotely. The ability to be heard clearly and understood when communicating is critical in a world where more and more business communication occurs off site. With the proper headset any business, small or large, can take advantage of remote call control and other unified communications tools. Choosing the right headset for your work environment will help increase business productivity, decrease workplace injuries, reduce operational costs, enhance user satisfaction and improve your company's image.

Wireless headsets come in a variety of different shapes, sizes and wearing styles, depending on the needs and preference of the users. Common wearing styles include over the head headbands, behind the neck bands, or smaller behind the ear models.

Some wireless headsets obtain Bluetooth technology to sync the device to your IP phone or mobile phone as well as to the base of the headset. Using a headset, users can take advantage of a majority of their desktop or mobile phone’s features with the flexibility to be hands free and mobile when necessary. Wireless headsets are most commonly used in office settings, such as call and contact centers where employees are frequently using the phone and need to utilize their time effectively to maintain productivity. However, you don’t have to work in an environment where you are tied to a desk all day to take advantage of the benefits a wireless headset has to offer.

Wireless headsets are also perfect for users who are constantly on-the-go and can sync their headsets to their mobile phone. Those who commute to work or work on the road, such as truck drivers, a wireless headset is a no brainer, especially with cell phone laws in tact in the majority of U.S. states.
