LifeSize Communications, a division of Logitech (News - Alert) and a provider of high definition "HD" video communications and telepresence, has teamed up with LG Electronics to introduce an integrated communications solution. The new solution, LG's Executive Video Conferencing System unifies HD video and voice communications and collaboration technologies all housed within a 24-inch HD display.
'As more people recognize the value of video communications to improve collaboration and productivity, audio conference calls are becoming a thing of the past,' said Craig Malloy, CEO of LifeSize (News - Alert) Communications. 'LG's Executive Video Conferencing System is more than a solution that streamlines the HD video communications experience -- it is one leap closer to our vision of a world where HD video communication is as mainstream and seamless as a telephone call.'
Designed to streamline business, LG's Executive Video Conferencing System is powered by LifeSize HD video communications technology, which has been seamlessly integrated into the 24-inch HD display to deliver HD video communications and HD display.
The new offering is available in two models. One is an all-in-one desktop and camera solution "model AVS2400" and another is a portable, room-type application "model RVF1000," which is designed for simple installation in a small conference room or office, and can be configured to work with a TV, monitor or projector for maximum utilization.
The HD video communications delivered by Executive Video Conferencing System can establish point-to-point HD video calls at 720p30 HD resolution with the help of integrated 720p camera, microphone array and premium speakers. The HD display delivered by the new system features fully integrated HD video and wideband audio system in a premium 24-inch display with 1920 x 1080 HD resolutions.
Completely interoperable with industry standards, the new all-in-one HD video and voice communications solution featuring a sleek form factor facilitates executives, remote office employees and teleworkers to connect face to face with anyone, anywhere.
Priced at USD $2,999, the new video conferencing system features broad interoperability with video communications systems and IP/PBX (News - Alert) installations. This enables the system to be connected to mainstream Unified Communications technologies from vendors such as Alcatel-Lucent, Asterisk, Avaya, Broadsoft, Cisco (News - Alert), Microsoft and Shoretel. This feature helps customers to maximize the full potential of HD video communications.
With global availability expected in the third quarter of 2010, the new video conferencing system is designed to fit into the natural desktop-based workflow. In addition, the intuitive LifeSize graphical interface facilitates users to easily switch the system between HD video conferencing and PC monitor functionality.
In April, TMCnet had reported the introduction of LifeSize Video Center by LifeSize Communications. The LifeSize Video Center is an innovative video capture and broadcast system that enables high definition video to be accessible everywhere.
