Network Hardware Resale (News - Alert), a provider of pre-owned and new networking solutions, just announced a partnership agreement with Cirtas Systems.

Cirtas makes cloud storage work like on-site enterprise storage arrays, in order to accelerate market momentum for the recently unveiled Cirtas Bluejet Cloud Storage Controller, said official sources.

Network Hardware Resale or NHR (News - Alert) is a member of the newly launched Cirtas channel program. It is expected to use its sales force comprising of more than 100 account executives and strategic marketing capabilities to assist Cirtas in driving rapid Bluejet adoption.

It was revealed that NHR is capable of introducing this optimized cloud storage controller to its large customer base which includes Global 1000 organizations, small and medium-sized enterprises, financial and educational institutions, healthcare organizations, government entities and telecommunications service providers.

The Cirtas Bluejet Cloud Storage Controller is a cloud-enabled storage system which stores data in the cloud besides providing security, performance, connectivity and manageability. Bluejet will reside in a customer’s data center and is provisioned on the Storage Area Network or SAN in ways similar to that of an on-site storage array. This allows data to be easily managed, compressed, deduplicated and encrypted before storing it in the cloud.

Embedded WAN optimization and advanced virtualization capabilities are leveraged by Bluejet for accelerating data transfer from the SAN to the cloud besides offering local storage features and functionality. This helps reduce storage Total Cost of Ownership. The technology is backed by NEA, Lightspeed Venture Partners and Amazon after the recently announced completion of Cirtas’ $10 million Series A funding round, said company sources.

Mike Sheldon, president and CEO of Network Hardware Resale said in a release, “The Cirtas Bluejet Cloud Storage Controller can dramatically improve the economics of storage environments while removing major barriers to cloud storage. As one of the fastest growing IT cost centers, data storage is a front-and-center issue for our enterprise customers who are seeking more affordable and reliable ways to store and manage business-critical information.”

Sheldon added, “Cirtas Bluejet is an exciting new technology that frees IT managers to unlock the massive cost savings of moving and storing data in the cloud while alleviating their current concerns over data safety and security. By removing the obstacles to public cloud storage, we can help enterprises easily and quickly lower storage TCO while simplifying data management.”

According to Dan Decasper, CEO and co-founder at Cirtas Systems, NHR caters to the needs of customers who are desirous of maximizing their IT budgets without compromising support for mission-critical environments.
