Voiceserve, Inc., a low-cost, next-generation Internet Telephony (News - Alert) software and service provider, has introduced its VoIP mobile dialer for BlackBerry  cellular phones.

Officials with Voiceserve said that the company's dialer enables BlackBerry (News - Alert) users to make and receive phone calls via the Internet 3G or Edge connectivity and benefit from significantly lower cost on international calls.

Company officials also said that the new service is offered through Voiceserve's Voipswitch software, which also offers VoIP dialers for Symbian, Android (News - Alert) and Windows cellular phones.

According to company officials, the softphone dialer is designed to work with the VoipSwitch's Softswitch platform developed by VoiceServe and is compatible with alternative third party SIP compliant platforms.

Voiceserve introduced the VoIP dialer for BlackBerry at the TMC (News - Alert)'s ITEXPO East 2010 in Miami, Florida in January where it received a Best of Show Award for 'Best Service Provider Solution'.

'The addition of the BlackBerry VoIP dialer to Voiceserve's full range of mobile dialers compliments our comprehensive service offering. We are one of the first software companies to offer VoIP dialer solution for BlackBerry users, which is the second most popular cellular handset", said Michael Bibelman, CEO of Voiceserve.

Bibelman also said that BlackBerry represents approximately 20 percent of the 1.21 billion mobile phones sold worldwide in 2009.

"Voiceserve's Vippie dialers, combined with an extensive range of capabilities embedded in our VoIPSwitch and PBX (News - Alert) services empowers merchants with the most comprehensive VoIP service available,' Bibelman said.
