VoIPSwitch Makes Mobile Video Communications Possible

By Stefania Viscusi, Assignment Desk Editor

London-based VoIPSwitch, a developer of VoIP platform solutions and a subsidiary of Voiceserve Inc., introduced today a video capability for its voice communications offerings.

According to officials with VoIPSwitch, the new video software has been incorporated into video phones that can meet the demands of customers including hotels, residential customers and IP-PBX (News - Alert) clients.

Voiceserve’s CTO, Chris Oglaza, said this latest offering helps to simplify video conferencing so users can participate even from their mobile phones

“Our latest release of the video software is the perfect solution for creating a video conference environment. The video conference can be launched through the VoipSwitch web portal or from the VoIPSwitch IP-PBX website. End-users will have the ability to communicate directly from web to any SIP video phone and vice versa,” Oglaza said.

Alexander Ellinson, president of VoiceServe said the company is focused on enhancing the robustness of their system so customers to take full advantage of their voice communication features using VoIP.

Industry research notes the worldwide demand for VoIP during the first half of 2009 grew to over $20 billion. Forecasts also show a 25 percent increase in hosted UC in 2009.

“While the benefits of VoIP are immense, the latest addition of Video will provide additional services helping customers realize greater communications benefits than they’d ever imagined,” said Ellinson.

VP 2009, a new phone rolled out by VoIPSwitch includes a 7 inches LCD touch screen with a “graphical user interface” for easy navigation through menus. The phone also includes a practical screen size and resolution for quality video conferencing and supports h264 and h263 video codecs. The phone also includes an audio/video output so an external display like a TV screen can be connected and applications like: online/offline advertisement, color media ring, SIP doorbell systems and video monitoring, are included.
