VoIP Termination Provider EndStream Interoperable with Xorcom

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

EndStream Communications, a next-generation carried focused on VoIP and telecommunications solutions for the wholesale, enterprise and middle markets, offers SIP Trunking services that are now certified as interoperable with Xorcom’s IP-PBX (News - Alert).

Xorcom is a privately-held manufacturer of business telephony interfaces and appliances based on Asterisk open source software. By bundling Xorcom’s (News - Alert) offering with EndStream’s service, significant cost savings are passed along to customers over traditional telecommunication services for calling within the United States and throughout the world.

EndStream delivers reliable, efficient and cost-effective phone and Internet solutions designed for large and medium-sized businesses. Such solutions include SIP trunking, a direct IP connect between the customer’s PBX and EndStream’s premium SoftSwitch cluster.

The company’s solutions also allow customers to tap into unused bandwidth on their existing Internet connection, which promotes cost savings by converging local, long-distance and broadband Internet services onto a single circuit.

IIn addition, EndStream provides local numbers for remote locations.

For those organizations with multiple locations, or who desire flexibility, it is also possible to receive unlimited local and inbound calls for a low monthly rate.

To drive adoption, long-distance and international per minute charges are much lower than traditional PRI or POTS service, company officials note.

“Performing interoperability with leading SIP Trunking providers such as EndStream is testimony to the fact that Xorcom is fully committed to bringing the most flexible, efficient and cost-effective solutions to market. Xorcom’s focus is to take the guesswork out of connecting Asterisk (News - Alert) solutions to SIP Trunking services. After all, making a phone call is supposed to be easy,” said Bill Soto, US and Canada Sales Manager, Xorcom.

A high-capacity digital PRI connection supports up to 23 simultaneous calls through one of EndStream’s wholesale carriers to meet the needs of medium to large organizations. Small to medium-size organizations will appreciate EndStream’s “Virtual POTS” service, which supports a traditional analog phone connection.

'We are thrilled to be a part of Xorcom's growing base of high quality carriers,' said Erik Levitt, CEO of EndStream. 'EndStream continually strives to provide the most efficient and cost-effective services possible, and partnering with a company such as Xorcom that offers superior appliances with reliable features is a valuable asset.'

In a recent TMC (News - Alert) interview, Levitt shared his excitement over the company’s recent retail business acquisition and the nationwide product for residential and SMB service provided by this company. This product allows customers to communicate with EndStream’s system seamlessly as it allows for the use of cloud computing, without sacrificing the control over the environment.

Levitt is also excited about the trends in video and telepresence, anticipating great opportunities that will emerge as a result of the direction of the market, especially in the mobile realm. EndStream is currently working with vendors to enhance products to achieve video enablement, driving the adoption of telepresence and on-net video conference bridging.

Perhaps the most exciting is the prospect of a video talk plan – is it in EndStream’s future? Watch, wait and see.
