Central Florida Telecom (CFT) has said that it has selected PortaOne’s (News - Alert) flagship PortaSwitch platform to provide enhanced customer service.
CFT provides a range of voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) services in and around Orlando, Florida. Established in 2011, the company achieved success in a short span of time. However, the company soon started facing problems due to a failing softswitch solution.
“Our initial softswitch vendor was failing us,” said Robert Riley, co-founder of CFT, adding that the system the vendor sold them was unreliable -- and worse, it was unsupported.
“The licensing fees were becoming unreasonable, and certain features weren't delivered as we were promised. It's not like this could be ignored or minimized -- the softswitch is the heart of our business."
The second softswitch from the same vendor also did not work for the company and in 2012, the company made the decision to drop its technology partner and began looking for a new softswitch vendor.
“Our drive to provide an excellent customer experience pointed us to PortaOne and its PortaSwitch platform,” said Keith Bruno, co-founder of CFT.
VoIP telecommunications services and subscriber management platform PortaSwitch comprises a real-time billing system, a class 4/5 SIP softswitch, and media applications. Company officials said that it effectively handles complete call control, routing, proxying, and converged VoIP billing functions of a diversified digital services company.
Moreover, with PortaOne’s product, VoIP carriers and telecommunication service providers can deliver a wide variety of business models, quickly and flexibly.
“We quickly realized that PortaOne had given us the ability to expand our business to both a nationwide and international clientele,” Riley said.
Riley said that along with improved billing and provisioning, IVR, voicemail and callback management, the company is now capable of offering new services such as calling cards and pin-less dialing. Moreover, the company is now able to concentrate on its core business and business development initiatives.
“PortaSwitch has helped us help our customers achieve their goals and provided them with a solid, reliable solution,” Bruno said. “This has minimized issues with the phone system and has allowed us to pursue other business instead of fighting fires."
This year in May, PortaOne announced that Canada-based provider of VoIP calling Safarifone improved its service after migrating to the PortaSwitch Procinctus Softswitch/Billing Platform.
