Telenet Selects Empirix Hammer XMS to Monitor VoIP Network

Empirix (News - Alert) has announced Belgium-based cable operator Telenet NV has selected Hammer XMS to monitor its voice-over-Internet protocol (VoIP) network to ensure high quality telephony service to its residential and business customers.
The capabilities of Hammer XMS include diagnostic, correlation and reporting. These capabilities provide Telenet’s network operations and service assurance teams with “insightful” operational data.
The Empirix solution was selected for its ability to deliver a comprehensive view of its VoIP service and network operations. A carrier-class monitoring solution, Hammer XMS has been designed to reliability and quality of next-generation services.
This solution offers network engineering, planning, operations and customer care teams the ability to deploy new services and maintain current services.
With the help of Hammer XMS, technicians can monitor the Telenet network at a granular level and proactively identify and rectify problems efficiently. In addition, the solution also provides Telenet with “unparalleled” scalability, ensuring it can assess service quality as the traffic within Telenet’s network grows.
Telenet is a provider of media and telecommunication services. Telenet focuses on the provision of cable television, high-speed Internet and fixed and mobile phone services primarily to residential customers in Flanders and Brussels.
Peter Michiels, senior vice president network and system engineering at Telenet NV, said: “We are confident Hammer XMS is the right solution to give us the visibility, at the call detail level and the aggregate service level, that we need to meet the demands of our customers.”

Empirix is a provider of voice application testing and monitoring solutions. In September, Company announced that Peerless Network, a provider of services that simplify interconnecting voice and data traffic across disparate networks, has installed its Hammer XMS monitoring solution for added visibility into its four switch sites.
