Media5 Corp. was at BroadSoft (News - Alert) Connections last month with its Mediatrix C7 and Mediatrix 4100 Series offerings. These solutions have been validated as interoperable with BroadSoft technology.

“The Mediatrix platforms, powered by Media5, are designed to support BroadSoft Business solutions focused on the enterprise UCaaS market. Holding BroadWorks interoperability and now figuring in the BroadCloud catalog, our products provide the lowest TCO for hosted UC services and IP trunking,” said Eric Beaudoin, product line manager of Mediatrix gateways at Media5.

The Mediatrix portfolio includes analog VoIP adapters, enterprise session border controllers, and media gateways.

As for BroadSoft, it has a global cloud application platform called BroadCloud over which it runs the BroadSoft Business suite. That suite includes a unified communications solution called UC-One, a team collaboration solution called Team-One, and a contact center solution called CC-One.

Cisco (News - Alert) last month announced plans to acquire BroadSoft. The move will enable Cisco to expedite UC cloud strategy and to more effectively address microbusinesses and mid-market opportunities.

Although BroadSoft is a leader in the UC arena, the company is not as well known as some of its peers. That’s because BroadSoft reaches business customers through the service providers. Communication services providers such as AT&T (News - Alert), BT, Charter, Comcast, Cox, and Verizon rely on BroadSoft to power their unified communications services.

In addition to BroadSoft, other key Media5 partners include DSP Group, Intel, Mitel, and Unify. AI Rostamani, Cisco, Ericsson, GENBAND (News - Alert), Marvell, Panasonic, ShoreTel, SigmaOne, Technicolor, and Velans are also Media5 partners.
