Business continuity is a phrase we hear tossed around quite a bit, the ability to offer failover for systems critical to operations to ensure things remain business as usual. While sure, disaster may not strike every day, but when the you know what hits the fan there’s certainly a level of serenity in knowing when all else fails the systems required to operate the business are still up and running.

One of these mission critical systems is communications. IP PBX (News - Alert), cloud PBX, hosted PBX, virtual PBX, whatever it is, it must offer high-availability. This week, Grandstream unveiled the high-availability controller for its UCM6510 IP PBX, the HA100. The HA100 delivers always-on, redundant voice capabilities when matched with two UCM6510 IP PBXs.

Through smart monitoring and automated failover, the HA100 is able to deliver in a big way. Its constantly monitored ports connect with every interface port of the UCM6510; 14 led indicators display real-time visual status information of auxiliary devices, network links and telecom lines; and gratuitous ARP forces SIP endpoints to refresh their MAC address cache and pair with the second UCM6510 to ensure no disruption.

The HA100 will be available through Grandstream distribution channels at the end of September, and comes in at a price tag (News - Alert) of $449.

“Many businesses today require communication solutions that are always-on and fully redundant. For these businesses, a communication platform being down for even a minute can have catastrophic consequences. As our customers around the world continue to deploy the UCM6510 into mission-critical industries, the HA100 ensures that end-user customers will have a completely reliable solution with seamless failover options,” said David Li (News - Alert), CEO of Grandstream.

Protecting one’s investment is important for any business, especially when your communications system is vital to the survival of your business.

Are you protecting the continuity of your communications?
