A public beta test gives an organization valuable information regarding the performance of its goods under real-world conditions from a large audience, but its main focus is to increase awareness for a product that is about to get released. The public beta announced by beroNet is looking to do that for its new modular VoIP Gateways, which have been updated with an additional module, increased app support with a microSD slot and enhanced SIP-to-SIP SBC functionality.

The new modular VoIP gateways come from a company specifically established by engineers to simplify the process of VoIP connections with innovative technologies. Based in Germany, beroNet manufactures VoIP gateways, cards and appliances as well as software solutions designed to take advantage of their hardware to improve their functionality.

“Our focus is to help our partners become VoIP heroes to their customers. The best way to do this is to provide flawless technology that is both easy to use, and flexible enough to support any business need. By launching our newest VoIP Gateway (News - Alert) in a public beta, we are making a statement to our partners that any stable release from beroNet will be rock solid,” said Christian Richter, CEO at beroNet.

The beroNet family of modular gateways is made up of the BNGW-M, BNGW-L and BNGW-XL models with the flexibility and management solutions that can support any combination of Basic Rate Interface (BRI), Primary Rate Interface (PRI), Foreign eXchange Subscriber (FXS) and Foreign eXchange Office (FXO). Service providers and enterprises will be able to track device connectivity, manage device settings, create and restore backups, and update device firmware remotely using the beroNet Cloud. This gives administrators comprehensive visibility of their IP communications and ensures the quality of service.

Once it is fully deployed, the beroNet Market provides applications that increase the functionality of the modular gateways with a new microSD slot. In addition to new applications, the microSD card is able to expand the space on the device to provide advanced functionality and additional GUI features. This increases the adaptability and flexibility of VoIP communications by allowing organizations to build a solution that is specific for their installations, while at the same time making it possible to make changes in the future with the modules instead of the entire device if a different VoIP installation is needed.

As announced by the company, customers will be able to purchase the beta units from beroNet. However, additional modules and accessories will be sold through the company's distribution partners.
