Crazy Tom Promotes Microsoft Lync VoIP Equipment

By Carrie Schmelkin, TMCnet Web Editor

While others are getting ready for summer vacation, or even summer work hours, VoIP Supply’s fictional character “Crazy Tom” is still grinding away in an effort to find the latest VoIP equipment deals.

This week, the VoIP equipment company is offering the following deal: Save 10 percent on select Polycom (News - Alert) and Plantronics Microsoft Lync Optimized Devices with Coupon Code TCVDLYNC.

“The difference having the wrong letter in the wrong place can make can be amusing and confusing.” Crazy Tom, the character responsible for finding VoIP deals, said in his weekly newsletter as to why he is offering this deal this week. “If I told you that this week's VoIP Deal was for Lynx optimized accessories you may have different ideas of what those accessories were depending on whether you thought I was referring to a wildcat or the mythological ghost-like animal. Switch the X for a C to get Lync Accessories and it makes more sense. You'd most likely think of USB headsets or phones and not mittens for a 50lb carnivorous cat.”

For those that follow Crazy Tom’s logic (and I have to say that I am becoming a pro!) VoIP Supply is offering deals on the Plantronics Blackwire C220-M device and the Polycom CX700.

The former piece of VoIP equipment is optimized for Microsoft (News - Alert) Office Communicator 2007 and is designed to make PC voice communications more effective and productive. The device features simple call controls for a convenient hands free environment.

The Polycom CX700 features a fully embedded Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 client and provides direct, on-device access to the features and capabilities of Office Communications Server 2007.

In other VoIP Supply news, the company recently announced the addition of Ruckus Wireless (News - Alert) products that specialize in Wi-Fi for both enterprise and service provider markets to its offerings.

For those that experience frustration over routing Wi-Fi signals – which can be unreliable due to interference and obstacles – Ruckus Wireless has developed “Smart Wi-Fi” to combat those barriers to a secure wireless network and restore faith in what companies love about Wi-Fi, according to company officials.

“VoIP Supply is excited to offer revolutionary Wi-Fi products from a manufacturer with such an impressive track record,” VoIP Supply’s Chief Marketing Officer Garrett Smith (News - Alert) said in a statement. “Today’s Wi-Fi systems face increasing levels of interference and obstacles. Ruckus delivers the unthinkable - Reliability, range and speed by automatically adapting to the surrounding environment.”
