Mitel (News - Alert) has picked media processing solutions company Octasic to provide echo cancellation for the Mitel 5000 Network Communications Solution and Axxess Converged Communications System, the companies said.
Mitel, a provider of unified communications solutions and applications for business customers, will use the Montreal-based company’s media processing technology to provide voice quality enhancement features to the Axxess converged communications platform.
"Mitel is committed to developing solutions that improve the end-user experience starting with what our customers touch and with which they interact every day through award-winning ergonomics and design of our desktop sets, telephones and applications," said Brady Barnes, director of software engineering, SMB Platform Group, Mitel.
The Axxess product line utilizes open architecture interfaces and standard protocols to transparently combine IP, wireless, digital and analog into a single platform to unify communications into one interoperable enterprise.
"This commitment extends to the voice quality of our unified communications solutions using Octasic (News - Alert),” said Barnes.
Octasic’s media gateway solutions are designed to increase system density and reduce system cost, according to Fabio Gambacorta, Octasic’s vice president of sales.
“Our work with Mitel has provided the telecommunications industry with a cost effective solution,” said Gambacorta.
Through the Octasic business model, OEMs and service providers using Octasic solutions can address their customers’ unique and complex needs. Understanding the importance of being first to market, Octasic provides solutions that are quick and easy to integrate.
