Acapela Group (News - Alert), a provider of advanced voice-based text-to-speech solutions, has announced that in partnership with UniMRCP, an open source MRCP project, the company is going to release Acapela MRCP add-on 2.000, an extension of Acapela Text-to-Speech, or “TTS,” for Windows and Linux servers, which offers a greater choice of high-end speech solutions using MRCPv2 to the users.
A VoiceXML and TTS expert based in Europe, Acapela Group develops text to speech solutions that provide voice to the written content in up to 25 languages. Its speech solutions allow the users to turn any written text into natural speech files, using any of its 50 High Quality standard voices or their own synthesized voice talent.
UniMRCP is an open source cross-platform Media Resource Control Protocol, or “MRCP,” project which enables the enterprises\ to implement and deploy the combination of an MRCP client and an MRCP server. Leveraging MCRP, telephony applications are able to communicate with speech resources, controlling media processing resources over the network using a distributed, client/server architecture. The MRCP standard specifies a number of media processing resources, such as the Speech Synthesizer or TTS, Speech Recognizer, or “ASR,” Speech Recorder and the Speaker Verifier.
After the release of the new Acapela MRCP add-on 2.000, telephony providers will be able to benefit from Acapela's's high quality and pleasant voices while relying on MRCPv2 for optimized integration of speech into their services and applications.
According to Lars-Erik Larsson, CEO of Acapela Group, the company is very happy to announce the compliance with MRCPv2 of its Acapela TTS Server solution realized in cooperation with UniMRCP Open Source Project, which has been an outstanding partner in this process. Larsson continued that as a voice expert dedicated to innovation and finding the best possible voice solutions, Acapela Group fully supports market standards to ease and optimize text to speech use in telephony applications, and the full interoperability of company’s speech engine with MRCPv2 is part of its commitment to support the industry and help optimize the easy test and deployment process.
In the words of Arsen Chaloyan, author of UniMRCP, he was proud to announce the availability of Acapela TTS voices, based on the UniMRCP server software library. Chaloyan noted that the number of languages and set of high quality voices Acapela supports are quite impressive, and through the integration with the UniMRCP server, its Acapela MRCP add-on 2.000 makes its TTS engine available to the users of any MRCPv2-aware platform. The new solution might be an ideal choice to be used in conjunction with well-known open source, as well as commercial products for the deployment of IVRs, Call Centers and IPPBXs, Chaloyan added.
In October 2009, Acapela Group announced the launch of new Voice as a Service offering that provided any content a natural voice and enabled customers to profit from the power of the spoken word.
