Provider of IMS-ready solutions Sonus Networks (News - Alert) announced on Tuesday that it has expanded its Open Service Partner Alliance (OSPA) with a new Interoperability
Certification Program.
Using the University of New Hampshire’s InterOperability Lab (UNH-IOL), the new certification program is designed to assist Sonus in certifying a wider variety of products and services, thereby helping Sonus customers to forge ahead in the industry.
The OSPA program will also help customers integrate products from multiple vendors into their Sonus-based IP Multimedia Subsystem (News - Alert) (IMS)-ready network and supports both strategic and technology partnerships.
"As Sonus-based networks continue to become more pervasive on a global scale, there's a mandate from network operators and equipment vendors alike to leverage Sonus' extensive field experience to verify the interoperability capabilities of many different pieces of the network," said Steve Edwards, chief marketing officer, Sonus Networks in a statement. "Sonus has always been a leader in the industry in this regard, and the new Certification Program enhances our ability to respond to our customer needs and help them build robust, unique networks."
The UNH-IOL's lab offers extensive testing services backed by thorough knowledge of leading industry standards and more than $20 million in test bed and test equipment gear.
IP Multimedia Subsystems, a way to bridge the circuit-switched technology of yesteryear to the packet-switched realm of tomorrow, represents the lifeblood for service providers today. And the best way to understand all of the implications of this next-generation enabling technology is to make the IMS Expo a must-attend event, collocated at INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & Expo, WEST, which runs October 10-13, 2006, in San Diego.
