Pareteum (News - Alert) Corp. is embedding iPass SmartConnect technology in its Global Cloud Services Platform. The $3 million licensing agreement between the companies will enable Pareteum global subscribers to use the best signal available at any time, and switch seamlessly between mobile and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Pareteum’s  Global Cloud Services Platform enables organizations to manage global wireless devices. This single platform can be used for provisioning, monitoring, and management of applications and connectivity.

The company – which serves enterprise, IoT, and retail customers – says its aim is to connect "every person and everything." The company offers cloud communication services and turnkey solutions featuring applications, content, and connectivity worldwide. Platform services partners, whose technologies are integrated into the Pareteum cloud, include HPE, IBM (News - Alert), Microsoft, Sonus, Oracle, and others. Pareteum has offices in Bahrain, Barcelona, Madrid, the Netherlands, New York, and Sao Paulo.

iPass (News - Alert) operates a software-as-a-service platform that provides secure Wi-Fi access on any mobile device. The company has more than 64 million hotspots at airports, convention centers, hotels, train stations, outdoor venues, and other locations around the world.

In other recent news from Pareteum, the company last week announced that it will provide its Global Cloud Services Platform to an established enterprise integrator and MSP in Asia and the Indian Subcontinent. The company declined to name the new customer, with which it has a new three-year contract. The contract calls for Pareteum to be paid monthly and on a per device basis for all endpoints managed by the platform. Pareteum will also receive payment for wireless connectivity.
