Phone.com is best described as a cloud-based telephony provider continuously innovating to stay on the frontier of communications, pushing the boundaries of capabilities every step of the way. A pioneer in the space, the firm is not one to sit on its laurels with today’s announcement echoing that sentiment resoundingly.

Phone.com (News - Alert) announced today that it will unveil its newest API at the upcoming All About the API event being held at Caesars in Las Vegas July 19-21. According to the company, its latest API is well documented and easily understood. And, a major differentiator from others in the space, it does not require building a phone system from the ground up. Instead, the API is already plugged into a full-feature VoIP solution.

“Year over year we see more and more business moving to the cloud,” said Phone.com CEO Ari Rabban (News - Alert). “A big part of the appeal is the ability to customize your solution. With most providers, you can’t even customize call-handling rules. With Phone.com and our APIs, we will work with you to create custom solutions and new services to cater to your customers.”

A number of firms are already leveraging the Phone.com library of APIs, from LiftMaster (News - Alert) aiding its field installers to AppCard providing proactive customer support the uses are many, varied and the APIs are quite effective.

“Our monitoring system can detect an offline card reader and use an API to generate a call to the store in order to proactively help the business owner resolve the problem,” Winnick said. “Similarly, when a customer’s card is declined, we can initiate a call to the customer allowing them to update their information.”

The Phone.com team will be participating in a couple sessions at the inaugural API event. Alon Cohen (News - Alert) (As seen in the video above) EVP and CTO will join the panel “Moving with the Market: Enhancing the Value of Your Product with API,” where he and others with help you keep pace in this burgeoning technology. In addition to Cohen, his colleague Ramesh Elaiyavalli, COO at Phone.com, is hosting the session, “Turbocharge your API Strategy with SDK,” where he will illustrate how to win in an API-first world.

If you haven’t registered yet, there is still time as All About the API allows a look behind the curtain at the bleeding edge of innovation.  See you in Vegas!
