Sangoma Launches New Enhanced IP Phone Line

“Desk phone” makes one think of traditional office settings – and it’s a scary thought to imagine some from a younger generation may not ever see a desk phone. As businesses were forced to send employees home for remote work, softphones came to the forefront because they imitated what a desk phone was, but on an app – either desktop or mobile.

That said, desk phones are by no means doomed. They remain a key component of business communications.  Today’s desk phones, though, are a far cry from what many businesses may still be using.  They are rich with features and integrate with UCaaS platforms to drive communications efficiency.

Sangoma, which offers a wide range of CaaS solutions, including premises-based UC systems, UCaaS, desk phones, headsets and a connectivity suite, recognized the need for enhanced deskphones to meet the need of today’s businesses and launched its new P-Series line of IP telephones.

The entry-level P310/P315, the midrange P320/P325/P330 and the flagship P370 touchscreen are designed by Sangoma to integrate with Sangoma's UC platforms. This will allow customers to deploy a cost-effective single vendor solution across their UC deployment.  Of course, as with other SIP phones, they can also be used with other communications platforms for companies looking for competively-priced phone options.

A single phone line from Sangoma will provide staff training and support benefits. For example, from LBMC’s perspective, they were left stranded by vendors in the past to get their phone manufacturer to deliver a bug fix or software update. Joe Cron, virtual chief technology officer, LBMC, said it is important for Sangoma to control any firmware updates and manufacturing schedules for the P-Series phones.

"The P-Series line more than meets today's intense business requirements," said Cron. "These phones provide all the functionality, and more, needed to meet our customer's needs. The tight integration across Sangoma's entire UC platform family is also important for us since our customers can deploy a single vendor solution they know will work.”

All models include color screens with HD voice. They are headset-ready and provide easy plug-and-play deployment.

The phones also have built-in productivity applications due to their integration with the Sangoma UC platforms Business Voice, Switchvox, PBXact and FreePBX. The productivity applications include voicemail, call log, contacts, phone status, user presence and call parking.

The workforce changed, and desk phones need to change with it. The P-Series phones will provide the functionality needed to meet the needs of the business and of the customers.
