Understanding call volume trends is one of the most important things a company can do. It helps them in hiring and training, workforce planning and scheduling and even performance management. As more companies embrace cloud-based communications, solutions have expanded their capabilities for tracking metrics and analytics that can help keep costs down while improving the quality of customer support.

RingCentral, Inc., a provider of cloud-based communications and collaboration solutions for businesses, recently announced that it has added new features designed to help organizations combine their preferred apps and services with a cloud-based communications platform, including new APIs, integrations and new software vendor partnerships. The result, says the company, is a solution customized to the specific needs of a company and its people working in a hybrid world.

Among the new features are APIs for call performance analytics, currently in public beta, that allow users to gather detailed calling and communications data to build a comprehensive analytics report designed to help users ensure proper capacity planning against call volume, optimize call handling and centralize insights for a complete understanding of calls.

RingCentral says it is focused on building a composable enterprise that enables organizations to integrate and create apps that work the way they want.

“In a hybrid world, customers want to integrate their existing apps and services with their business communications platform. This helps them to run and grow their business while empowering their people to work from anywhere,” said Nat Natarajan, executive vice president of Products and Engineering at RingCentral, in a statement. “This is why we’ve built an open platform that makes it easy to integrate existing and new apps with our messaging, phone, and video capabilities all built on the cloud. We are helping customers to build customized workflows for their end users, helping them to effectively work from anywhere.”
