Cloud contact center provider 8x8 has released a number of Spring 2021 upgrades to its spectrum of cloud-based contact center products. As a part of the new lineup, the company has introduced the “Work For Web” feature, which allows users to connect to the 8x8 portal through popular web browsers like Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.

According to 8x8’s own research, nearly 82% of organizations will be hybridizing their work environments with a mixture of in office and remote work in the post-pandemic era. 8x8 developers have been focusing heavily on the new demands of the modern workforce, which has become reliant on cloud and remote services to remain functional during the pandemic. The remote working trend will likely remain a permanent fixture in business culture, which means customers will have higher expectations for the functionality of their contact center and communications providers.

“Organizations across the globe are adopting a hybrid work model, which is transforming the way employees and customers communicate, collaborate and engage,” said Dejan Deklich, Chief Product Officer at 8x8, Inc. “The 8x8 Customer First, Product First, Team First culture drives our commitment to innovate on the integrated cloud contact center and communications platform, allowing organizations and their employees to work and engage from anywhere, on any device in the app of their choice.”

Other features in the release include customizable virtual backgrounds for video conferencing, call quality indicators, and machine learning and AI capabilities for smart administration. Readers can visit 8x8’s announcement page to view the entire list of new features.
