Boston-based Fuze aims to be on the leading edge of the future of work. The company offers a cloud-based communications platform designed for “the modern global enterprise,” allowing companies to have fast and flexible access to real-time contact center and unified communications functionalities. Originally called ThinkingPhones when it was founded in 2006, the company provides business voice, videoconferencing, text, instant messaging, content sharing, and collaboration apps under a single cloud service. Users can seamlessly transition between traditional phone systems and mobile devices as well as other communications media.

This week, the company announced the appointment of Christopher Jones to the position of chief revenue officer (CRO). As CRO, Jones will be responsible for leading Fuze’s global sales team and driving the company’s international channel and partner strategy to meet the demand for Fuze’s enterprise cloud-based communications solutions, said the company.

Jones is a 25-year enterprise technology industry veteran in global sales and senior management. Prior to joining Fuze, he held leadership roles at Polycom, Avaya, Cisco, and most recently, with Qlik Technologies. At the latter company, he served as executive vice president and general manager of worldwide sales and led a 750-person sales organization.

“Chris brings deep channel expertise and partner strategy at a pivotal moment for Fuze, and he will play a critical role in leading our sales team as we scale to meet increased demand globally,” said Brian Day, CEO of Fuze, in a statement. “I look forward to working with Chris on driving Fuze’s growth and extending our sales capabilities amidst the evolving distributed work landscape.”

Jones noted that the rapid expansion of remote work and the corresponding rise in demand for unified communications presents a substantial opportunity for Fuze to grow its customer base and establish new partner relationships in key markets.

“I’m thrilled to join Fuze’s leadership team to continue building the global sales organization and support Fuze’s mission as an enterprise leader in flexible work,” he said in a statement.
