New Ooma Office Features Help Small Businesses Manage Communications

April 30, 2019

If there’s one thing all small businesses strive to achieve it’s to level the playing field with the larger competition. In the past that meant having to invest significant time and money in tools and processes only to come up short. Today however, thanks to advanced technologies and Internet capabilities, the issue is disappearing.

Now small businesses can enjoy features like music on hold, conference bridges for meetings and even mobile apps which were once only features big businesses could afford.

Smart communications solutions provider Ooma is helping to make this possible and just announced the release of new features for its Ooma Office solution aimed specifically at assisting small businesses with management of communications.

The solution is priced at $19.95 a month per user and does not require a contract. In addition to being easy to setup and deploy, customers can also choose their end points – conventional analog phones, IP phones, or a virtual service using a its mobile app, or any combination of the three.

Commenting on this latest move to provide small businesses with advanced tools for communications management, Dennis Peng, vice president of product management at Ooma said, “For small businesses, a missed call is often a lost customer. That’s why we’re constantly adding new features to Ooma Office that give busy owners and employees new ways to quickly and efficiently manage phone traffic.”

New features added to Ooma Office include:

  • Call Blocking - Block individual numbers from calling the company to reduce valuable time waster answering unwanted calls.
  • Multi-level Virtual Receptionist - An easier way for administrators to have accurate and efficient call routing.
  • Call Park - Hold up to 5 lines at a time.
  • Ring Groups Identification - Set up a certain group of phones or users where an incoming call will ring.
  • Intercom - Easily announce or speak to someone through the speaker on their phone to ask a question.
  • Extension Monitoring - Easily manage multiple calls for different users and see which lines are free or tied before transferring.

For the enterprise, Ooma also recently unveiled a new white label solution for Ooma Enterprise that makes it possible for channel partners to brand the service, set pricing, own the customer lifecycle and take advantage of Ooma’s billing and tax collection tools.
