Spoke Phone Introduces Dual-Mode Mobile Business Solution

New Zealand is a mystery to most of us.

All that many of us know about this far off land is that it was the setting for The Lord of Rings movies. The off-beat HBO show Flight of the Conchords, about New Zealanders in New York, only adds one’s curiousity about what life might be like in the country. (For example, is New Zealand’s toothbrush fence that one of the show’s characters refer to a real thing? Answer: Yes. Yes it is.)

However, there is one thing that most of us probably know about New Zealand. That is that it’s remote, and many of its inhabitants work and live in rural areas.

As we all also are aware, rural areas in many parts of the world don’t always have the strongest infrastructure. For example, remote rural areas are often out of reach of the latest cellular or other wireless networks.

That’s why Auckland-based Spoke Phone recently launched a dual-mode mobile phone business solution.

The new release of the Spoke Phone solution enables subscribers to enjoy HD VoIP calling when a good Wi-Fi or 4G is available. When such connections are not available or deliver less than acceptable quality for real-time communications, subscribers can instead use the carrier calling option. The Spoke Phone service allows users to switch between the two without interrupting their calls.

Having the ability to communicate wherever they are is important for such businesses as The Stan Semenoff Group, Spoke Phone says. This Whangarei business has 150 people at three businesses. The main office has great Wi-Fi, according to the companies. But drivers of the company’s more than 70 trucks don’t always have access to 3G, 4G, or Wi-Fi. So the new Spoke Phone release gives them another option.

Additionally, the company says Spoke Phone’s service is attractive because of its easy setup and no long-term contract.
