VirtualPBX has come out with a new Web Phone, which eliminates the need for a physical VoIP endpoint. It is available now and is free.

This solution, which an end user can access via a browser, is based on WebRTC. That means the user does not require a special device or have to download any software to make it work.

VirtualPBX Dash Business Phone Service Plan subscribers can begin making and receiving phone calls within minutes of getting on a plan. Plus, the VirtualPBX Web Phone means organizations don’t have to update and maintain firmware in devices and pay licensing fees on software.

“The VirtualPBX Web Phone is the definitive answer for businesses looking to completely cut the cord,” says VirtualPBX COO Lon Baker. “And because this is still a fully-functioning VoIP device delivered for free over the web, adding the flexibility of the platform came at zero expense to the features and performance of the phone.

“We’ll always have a need to offer customers the best VoIP telephone hardware and Softphone options available,” added Baker. “But the speed and freedom of the new Web Phone is exactly what more businesses are looking for, and now they can stop looking!”

VirtualPBX is San Francisco-based company. When VirtualPBX got its start in 1997, it catered to small businesses that wanted a toll-free auto attendant in the cloud. Over time, it expanded its product line and broadened its reach. Today it serves customers of all sizes.

A couple years ago the company introduced its Dash solution in an effort to deliver a more intuitive user experience Based on the FreeSWITCH open source telephony platform, Dash is also very easy to customize. That enables VirtualPBX to more quickly add new features and integrate with third-party solutions.

The Dash user interface is clean and customizable. The entire end user and administrator experience is managed through the cloud. A Dash portal enables users to buy the service, add new users, manage use, purchase new lines, and more.
