VirtualPBX Launches SPAM Blacklisting Feature

This week, VirtualPBX announced the launch of a new call privacy feature for its business telecommunications, DASH. Its new offering is a Blacklisted Numbers Feature to allow users to add and manage numbers marked as SPAM right from the DASH online portal. When blacklisted callers attempt to phone out, a busy signal will be on the other end.

“Dash is born from the most powerful enterprise telephone software we’ve ever offered so it makes sense to include Blacklisted Numbers as part of its powerful feature set,” said VirtualPBX’s COO, Lon Baker. Numbers that can be added and managed by users include ones deemed malicious, opportunistic, vendors, and telemarketers.

Phone scams and an overabundance of telemarketing calls can feel like a lost cause, despite the Do Not Call Registry. The problem with DNCR is it takes 31 days to go into effect and is not 100 percent fool proof. There is a blocking option on cellphones but that process can prove tedious.

“We made some waves with our design interface when we introduced Dash. But features like Blacklisted Numbers prove that we’re committed to keeping Dash competitive on function as much as with form,” added Baker. The new addition is aiming to make SPAM callers powerless with the hopes that they will give up and put attention to individuals yet to have implemented the feature.

It is quite a simple process as DASH users just need to go to the online portal and click on the settings tab. From there, it’s a breeze.

Is this the new wave of call blocking? Will it replace the Do Not Call Registry? If anything, users will have much more control over what calls are received.
