To modernize telecommunications infrastructures and add interactive communications to business processes, Rogers Communications has selected RingCentral to provide a cloud business phone system solution for Rogers' small business customers in Canada.

According to a press release, Rogers Hosted IP Voice, powered by RingCentral, provides customers the rich functionality of a business phone system without the high cost or complexity of a traditional on-premise hardware PBX.

"We understand that for small businesses, seamless connections with customers are crucial to maintaining a professional image," said John Boynton, executive vice president and chief marketing officer at Rogers. "Our team is committed to helping Canadian small businesses work efficiently through offering our customers innovative solutions, including RingCentral's cloud-based PBX platform."

Vlad Shmunis, CEO of RingCentral, said, “Domestic and international carriers are using our cloud platform to serve the needs of businesses. As Canada's leading carrier, we are excited to work with Rogers to offer our platform to their business customers. Businesses are not working the same way they were three years or even a year ago. Yet, they have been saddled with on-premise PBX hardware systems that are expensive, and do not meet the new business needs of a mobile and distributed workforce.”

Rogers Hosted IP Voice offers a complete hosted phone and fax system, unlimited local and long distance calling and faxing (anywhere within the US and Canada), pre-configured IP phones (delivered ready with plug-n-ring capability); rich Smartphone applications for Apple, Android, and BlackBerry platforms; multiple extensions; multiple voice mail boxes; call management and call routing for real-time call control; internet fax; and more.

Hosted IP Voice plans are priced as low as CDN $29.99 per user per month.

In other company news, virtual-pbx reported that RingCentral has announced that the company will provide its products to Tradavo, an online wholesale distributor that connects consumer product companies with small, special-market retailers.
