Esna Technologies has announced the release of Mobile UC, a unified communications mobility application for its enterprise unified communications platform Telephony Office-LinX version 7.0.
The Esnatech Telephony Office-LinX platform is designed to integrate with existing enterprise telephony networks and many enterprise messaging platforms including Microsoft (News - Alert) Exchange, Lotus Notes, and Novell GroupWise.
The new mobile solution from Esnatech was created to extend a number of capabilities of the Telephony Office-LinX Unified Communication system to mobile business users, including presence management, mobility, and messaging.
In a statement, the company pointed out that the news software enables users to collaborate with colleagues, view voicemail messages, screen unwanted telephone calls, and securely access personal and corporate directories from their mobile device. The Mobile UC software offers users call control, access to corporate presence status, and complete access to dialing, messaging, and fax.
According to Davide Petramala, vice president of global sales and marketing for Esnatech, the solution “…delivers real business value and true productivity gains. The release of our mobile UC software will allow Esnatech to further deliver on its promise of extending the Unified Communication experience from the enterprise to any mobile device.”
The new software is available on release 7.0 of Telephony Office LinX and works with a variety of mobile phones including the Nokia 60 Series phones, Palm OS4 and higher, Pocket PC devices, and the Sony/Ericsson (News - Alert) P800/900 phones.
According to a company news release, near-term plans call for making the software available for RIM’s Blackberry devices and Microsoft Windows mobile devices for version 8.0 in early 2007. Release 7.0 also provides integration with Mitel, 3Com, Avaya, NEC, Iwatsu Networks, Toshiba, Panasonic, Ericsson, Cisco, Nortel (News - Alert), and SIP-based phone systems.
Last month, Esna had announced SIP
interoperability with a number of phone systems, including Iwatsu’s ECS, Teltronics’ 20-20, 3Com’s NBX, Dialogic’s PMG gateway, and Asterisk (News - Alert)-based VoIP
solutions.
When making the announcement, Esnatech’s CEO/CTO Mohammad Nezarati said, “SIP… is the ideal protocol for Esnatech to leverage its future development for unified communications solutions. SIP will allow us to provide seamless integration into different business applications and deliver real time availability of content from any access point to our customers.”
