Unified communications specialist Iwatsu Voice Networks recently announced the upcoming availability of its Enterprise-CS (ECS) system, due out in Version 3.0 during the fourth quarter of 2006.
ECS 3.0 is designed to work in tandem with Enterprise TOL 7.0 from Esnatech (also due out by the end of 2006). Together, the two solutions provide an advanced bundle of unified communications capabilities.
Specifically, when deployed with TOL 7.0, ECS 3.0 provides integration with voicemail using Session Initiation Protocol (News - Alert) (SIP).
“By using this burgeoning protocol to connect the system with its voicemail server, the need for analog and Dialogic (News - Alert) cards has been eliminated,” Iwatsu said in a press release. “This advancement alone will save end users a significant investment in hardware.”
Bundling the two solutions together also enables a variety of features useful to mobile workers. For example, a new feature called Mobile LINK lets users perform presence management and messaging functions from any WAP-compliant device.
“The Enterprise-CS version 3.0 enables some high-end presence mobility features normally out of the reach of most SMBs,” said Iwatsu Executive Vice President Kevin Kelleher, in a statement. “By utilizing SIP integration we’re able to leverage technology to work for us to lower the cost of the solution.”
