Esna Technologies has revealed its support for Google (News - Alert) Applications in its enterprise unified communication platform, Telephony Office-LinX. The Esnatech UC solution links the office PBX into hosted Google applications services for messaging, collaboration, calendaring and presence.

Google’s Gmail was built with the idea that users shouldn’t need to delete e-mail messages or spend time hunting to find a particular message. Its key features are marketed as “search,” “storage” and “speed.” Gmail users can have full index searching capabilities for voice mail, fax messages, and recorded conversations directly from their inbox.

The Esnatech platform integrates the Google hosted services with the enterprise telephony infrastructure, thereby giving users the option to link their office desk phone and mobile phone to the applications. When an important e-mail or voicemail is received, the user’s phone screen will light up accordingly.

Esnatech’s software also lets users log into Gmail and manage e-mail, voicemail and fax message. Office workers that use thin clients have the option to access Gmail using a Web browser on any use just a browser with any OS and login to Gmail to gain access to messages.

Some of the features that included in this integration supplies are full unified Gmail messaging, integration of applications with legacy and IP-based phone systems, capabilities to integrate multiple PBX (News - Alert) with Google applications at the same time, being able to merge office call logs into Gmail folders for easy viewing and the functionality to record office conversations and archive them in Gmail for later retrieval.

A feature called ‘Click to Dial’ can be meshed with the office PBX and registered mobile devices, in order to provide calling facilities from the inbox itself. Additionally, Google contacts can be synchronized with the Telephony office-LinX platform.

"This is like deploying a full Microsoft (News - Alert) Exchange server, Active Directory, & Office Communication server at a fraction of the cost and with virtually no overhead,” said  Mohammad Nezarati, CEO & CTO Esnatech, in a statement.

Nezarati continued: “Our UC platform integrates SaaS (Software as a Service) technology to enterprise infrastructure. Now customers can deploy Unified Communications (News - Alert) with virtually no overhead and with minimal expense in terms of time and money. The web based services of Google Applications also provides a complete cross platform solution.
