Parla.it Picks NetCentrex MyCall to Deliver IP Telephony

NetCentrex, an enabler of converged voice-video-data networks announced today it was tapped by Parla.it for deployment of VoIP services for the Italian residential DSL market. Parla.it, an Italian subsidiary of telecom operator France Telecom adopted the MyCall system in order to provide IP telephony services to residential Internet subscribers with existing ADSL access.

The Parla.it product offers subscribers two types of monthly subscription and one "pay-as-you go" tariff plan: "ChiAma l'Italia" for unlimited calls to fixed line numbers in Italy for 13,89 Euros per month, and "ChiAma l'Europa" for unlimited calling to fixed line numbers across Europe for 23,89 Euros per month. The "pay-as-you-go" plan, "ChiAma Free" features the calls to Italian fixed numbers for 0.019 Euros per minute, including Vat.

Internet users will now be able to subscribe to and access the IP telephony services through an online portal, which is housed by France Telecom in France, and is at the heart of the Parla.it offer. Parla.it said it chose NetCentrex MyCall residential solution for its field-proven technologies, wide range of features, high performance and service flexibility. NetCentrex partnered with Highdeal, a provider of pricing, performance rating and settlement solutions, to deliver an off-the-shelf, pre-integrated, IP telephony package which includes full pricing and billing services. The deployed solution enables customers to choose their services, make their calls, manage their subscription, monitor service usage in real-time and consult all subscription and billing information via the Parla.it Web portal.

MyCall is a field proven solution that can scale up to hundreds of thousands of users and deliver a wide range of high performance, customizable services that can be managed via the Web. The deployment was completed and services operational within 6 months."

As a network-based solution, MyCall is directly accessible to all network users wherever they are. Based on NetCentrex' CCS Softswitch v3.5 and MCS Media Control Server, MyCall integrates advanced tools for service creation, provisioning and management, thus enabling faster service installation and lower integration costs.
