Comverse Introduces IMS Applications Suite 2.0

Comverse (News - Alert), a subsidiary of Comverse Technology Inc., has announced the launch of Comverse IMS Applications Suite 2.0. The synergy between Comverse IMS applications and embedded IMS core allows service providers to leverage Comverse’s portfolio of value-added services and take a pragmatic, business approach to IMS. Service providers can focus on launching profitable service combinations designed to provide a strong ROI.

Comverse IMS Applications Suite 2.0 enhances IMS voice and video telephony services with InSight Total Communications Portfolio, including converged messaging, presence, conferencing services and network address book. The multimedia experience can also be personalized with fun dial ringback tones and Klonies avatars. The solution is suited for all types of operators deploying fixed-mobile services and supports triple-play and quad-play offerings that integrate IPTV with fixed-mobile telephony and messaging.

The IMS Applications Suite may be deployed in its entirety for rapid service launch or can be customized to fit specific operator needs. Operators have the flexibility of either deploying the IMS Applications Suite with embedded Comverse IMS Core or on top of any standards-compliant IMS core network.

“Comverse IMS Application Suite is built to deliver a superior user experience, blending voice and video calls with a presence-enhanced interface providing seamless messaging across services, networks and devices,” said Benny Einhorn, chief marketing officer at Comverse, in a statement.“Our IMS applications allow service providers to introduce convergent, multi-play services at their own pace, while reusing common building blocks such as VoIP, video, messaging, presence, and Network Address Book to maximize operator ROI and deliver subscriber value.”

The IMS Applications Suite is further enhanced by new Comverse subscriber clients. The PC Communicator extends mobile voice, video and converged messaging capabilities to subscribers using a PC. The Mobile Communicator ensures seamless communication and messaging on dual-mode mobile devices that allow subscribers to access both cellular and Wi-Fi networks. The Mobile Communicator client enables Comverse's innovative services and user experience and includes Cicero Network's leading dual-mode V2oIP client and Core Network Voice Call Continuity (VCC) server technologies.

Einhorn concluded, “IMS is ushering in an exhilarating new period of innovation throughout the industry. Comverse will be showcasing IMS Applications Suite 2.0 at the Comverse User Forum in Lake Como, Italy, June 25-28.
