PrivacyStar lets users block unwanted callers, identify unknown callers with the integrated Caller Lookup and also report unwanted telemarketing violators. It also allows all details to be given to the regulatory enforcement authorities for conducting an investigation, company sources said.

“Since the launch of PrivacyStar just a few weeks ago, we’ve seen incredible growth in our user base and it’s clear that our customers are blocking callers, filing complaints and looking up numbers at record levels every day,” Jeff Stalnaker (News - Alert), CEO of First Orion, said.
“We are excited that now through our partnership with MobiHand, BlackBerry users in both the United States and Canada have a new way to take control of their phone.”

In case an unwanted call is received PrivacyStar captures detailed information about violations regarding date, time, number and identity. This will let users provide all the information required to law enforcement authorities when they report such harassment by telemarketers.

Users will also be able to identify unknown callers even if they were calling from 1-800 numbers. When an unknown call is received users can access the Caller Lookup feature to identify the caller by name. This will give the user the flexibility of blocking that call or add it to their address book. All blocked numbers can be viewed on a personalized Web portal that is fully integrated with the device. The feature allows unblocking of a number if desired by a single touch of a button, according to company sources.
